Amoxicillin is considered a derivative of semi-synthetic penicillin, neutralizes gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic microorganisms.

Pathogenic agents that are sensitive to the active elements of the drug:

  • anaerobic microorganisms (including gram-negative and gram-positive).

Potassium salts in combination with a derivative of synthetic penicillin allow the use of the drug in the treatment of infectious diseases.

Pharmacokinetics

Dosage forms intended for oral administration are rapidly absorbed in the digestive tract. The presence of food in the stomach does not affect the rate of absorption of the suspension and tablets into the blood. Active elements are 54% bound to blood proteins, the maximum concentration is reached 50-60 minutes after the first dose. Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid are evenly distributed in the tissues, able to penetrate into the saliva, tissues of the joints and muscles, bile ducts, prostate.

In the absence of inflammation in the brain, the blood-brain barrier prevents the penetration of active elements. Traces of active ingredients are found in breast milk. Partially the metabolic process is carried out by the liver, its products are excreted along with the urine. A small part leaves the body along with feces and saliva. The half-life takes 90 minutes.

Reviews on Amoxiclav 1000

Doctors

Isakova Alevtina, otolaryngologist, Samara

The drug is popular, its effectiveness is proven by time. Side effects are minimal, the drug is well tolerated by patients. A small price is a definite plus. In practice, using an antibiotic for a long time. Dosing regimen depends on the characteristics of the course of the disease. It is important to comply with all prescriptions of the attending physician. Tablets need to drink only water, in any case not tea, coffee or carbonated drinks. Power adjustment is not required.

Kairat Zhanatasov, infectious diseases specialist, Syktyvkar

The drug has proven itself in the treatment of diseases of infectious etiology. Patients rarely complain of side effects, an allergic reaction on the skin rarely occurs. The combined drug has a strong antimicrobial effect, under the influence of which gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria die. I do not recommend drinking pills for more than 10 days. For children sold a special suspension with a pleasant taste, the composition of which is more gentle and safe.

Of patients

Christina, 32 years old, pos. Soviet

Chronic sore throat makes itself felt twice a year. The exacerbation of the disease is so severe that food intake becomes impossible. Tonsils are inflamed, gargling does not bring relief. I picked up the medicine for a long time, until the doctor prescribed a penicillin antibiotic. Purchased it in Latin by prescription. Saw tablets 10 days, 1 tablet per day. The first days worried about allergies. Small acne appeared on the skin, it was constantly itching. Smeared them with antihistamine ointment, the allergic reaction went away after 2 days.

Fedor, 41, Novorossiysk

After surgery, he took a penicillin antibiotic during rehabilitation. The drug did not contribute to the rapid scarring of the suture, but the cold passed quickly. Cough tormented before the operation, the intervention was urgent, so I did not have time to cure the cold. The side effects were minor - a slight bowel disorder.
